4" Shackle Assembly for Right Rear Torsion Arm, X7

Shackle Assemblies include shackle rod, two 4130 high strength rod ends and jam nuts. For center to center distance between rod end holes add 2” to the rod length.

Shackle Rod Lengths
Measurements below refer to shackle rod lengths before adding the rod ends.
X7 wingless left rear: 3”
X7 wingless right rear: 2.5”
X7 winged left rear: 4”
X7 winged right rear: 3”
X7 winged right rear (dry slick): 3.5” or 4”
X4-X6 left rear: 2”
X4-X6 right rear: no rod* *connect 71-CMR7 and 71-CFR7 male and female rod ends with 70-325 jam nut.

Torsion arm angle is a function of shackle length in combination with bearing carrier plate and use or non-use of torsion standoff. Approximately 1/2” to 1” difference in length between the left rear shackle and the right rear shackle is recommended for proper torsion arm angle. For Hyper X7: Use the 40-400 Torsion Standoff with the shackle to get the arm angles and the chassis height correct. Mount the shackle in the middle hole of the X7 bearing carrier plate.

Why Longer Shackles?
Front to back shackle angle has an effect on spring rate. A greater angle equates to less spring rate. The X7 shackles are longer allowing for greater front to back misalignment between the torsion arm and the bearing carrier with minimal angle change to the shackle. This reduction in angle equates to a more consistent handling chassis.
